Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter rejoins the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal after an absence of 20 years in time to celebrate Mendelssohn’s bicentennial. Mutter’s program will include one of her specialties, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor
, op.64, also found in her new album Mendelssohn
. Appropriately, 2008 saw Mutter receive the Leipzig Mendelssohn Prize as well as the coveted Ernst von Siemens Music award, thereby cementing her place amongst the elites.
